A Place Where History Happens

In the heart of downtown Lancaster

Capital Day 2026 is planned as a street festival centered on Penn Square, with activities extending one block in each direction on King & Queen Streets.  Many local brick-and-mortar shops and restaurants will be participating with their own Capital Day offerings.  Check back for a full map of participating businesses.

Road Closures

Note that Queen Street will be closed between Vine and Orange, and King Street will be closed from Prince to N Christian St.  King Street between N Christian St and Duke St will remain open for vehicle access to/from the Lancaster Marriott and Penn Square Garage. The W King entrance of the Hagar parking lot will be closed but the other entrances will remain open.

Lancaster Central Market

Central Market is open every Saturday from 6:00am to 3:00pm and Capital Day will be no exception. Festival guests are encouraged to check out this local landmark and support its many popular stands, but please be patient as larger-than-usual crowds are expected.
