Join the fun, starting in Penn Square, for the Lancaster Capital Day Parade!
The parade will feature Big Boy Brass, historic characters, a replica of the Lancaster County Courthouse, the McCaskey drum line, and more along the way, including you! Join the parade in historical costume or bring your pet in costume.
Whether you're joining the parade or watching it pass by, we hope you'll come out and enjoy a lighthearted celebration of Lancaster, our history, and the welcoming community that makes this city special.

Pet Costume Contest
Get excited for the Lancaster Capital Day Pet Costume Contest! Dress your pet in a historical costume of your choice and submit a photo by Sept 25. Optionally join the parade on Sept 26 with awards to follow in the square. Free to enter & participate!

Historical Costume Contest
Dress up for Lancaster Capital Day in your best Historical Costume! Dress in colonial or period style, join the parade and judging at Penn Square. Four categories, free entry, ribbon prizes, open to the whole family. No pre-registration required just show up in costume!
